NNI is a Stamford, CT based 501(C)3 nonprofit Housing Corporation.
The oldest actively operating nonprofit housing developer in Fairfield County traces its beginnings from 1967.
We are committed to improving the quality of life in our communities by addressing the critical shortage of affordable housing. It builds new homes, redevelop, rehabilitate and preserve existing homes, and manage rental properties for families and individuals unable to afford market rate housing in Western Connecticut. NNI believes that stabilizing and revitalizing neighborhoods improves the quality of life for everyone who lives and does business in our communities. For four decades, NNI has sought to promote changes in community attitudes and public policy in support of affordable housing.
We have developed, redeveloped and preserved more than 500 affordable rental and ownership housing units and manages 375 units of low and moderate income family, supportive, and senior rental housing in Stamford, Norwalk and Danbury; started a Tenant Advocate Program for tenants working their up the economic ladder and seeking to revitalize their communities; established the Child Development Center at its MLK Jr. Apartments for neighborhood families with, and helped countless families to home ownership.
Plans on the drawing board and in our housing pipeline could add up to 100 additional units of new and rehabbed affordable ownership, rental and supportive housing in Western Connecticut communities over the next couple of years. More information can be found at www.nnistamford.org.
We rely on financing support from individuals, community and faith based organizations, corporations and foundations to identify and acquire sites that keep housing production flowing through out development pipeline and families into quality housing within their means in one of the least affordable housing markets in the United States.
